Job Profile
Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
The Business Systems Analyst will initially be primarily responsible for developing dictionaries and set up for the installation and functional operations conversion to the Meditech system.
Initial and ongoing work will require coordination with the Director of Patient Financial Services as well as the Director of IT and Meditech.
Ongoing the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for planning, designing, developing, organizing and directing the implementation of efficient business, financial, and operations systems.
The Business Systems Analyst optimizes the use of existing financial applications and maintains existing financial applications in the hospital information systems through advanced financial and analytical skills.
Position will focus on information technology used by the revenue cycle and any ancillary or subsystems within the hospital system; however may be assigned responsibility for other applications.
The Business Systems Analyst evaluates, develops and generates requested reports for various business units across the organization.
Position assists the Director of Patient Financial Services and Department Leaders in the selection and installation of new products and modules, upgrades and maintenance of existing financial data, system tables, reports, forms, and interfaces from subsystems.
Position serves as Project Manager while utilizing financial skills to evaluate and streamline workflow design and setup.
Employee communicates installation and upgrade information to business system users, managing each department's expectations.
Employee works with Information Systems staff and software vendors to research, document, and correct errors which may occur in the users operating procedures, applications, or operating systems.

Position Summary: 

The Analyst, Portfolio Management will support all elements of the portfolio management process and will be exposed to a wide range of commercial real estate investment strategies in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The successful candidate will primarily support the proprietary loan and portfolio management software used by the firm, and will secondarily support the acquisition and management of commercial real estate loan portfolios to drive asset-level and portfolio-level performance, reporting, process improvement and implementation aligned with Fund strategy.  This is a newly-created position in response recent and continued investment activity.

 

 

Job Functions and Duties:

  • Learn, master, and train new hires on proprietary loan and portfolio management software
  • Assist with ongoing software improvement by managing user-to-developer feedback loop
  • Serve as primary point of contact for software-related questions from the team
  • Assist in the preparation of asset-level recommendations for investment committee approvals as needed
  • Assist Portfolio Managers in annual investment valuation and business plan processes for each portfolio
  • Develop and maintain financial models and other analytical tools for portfolio analysis
  • Produce asset-level, portfolio-level and investment-level reporting on a periodic basis
  • Propose time-saving or cost-saving initiatives based on observations or analytics

 

 

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Real Estate or related field
  • 2-5 years progressive work experience at a financial institution (preference for fast-paced commercial real estate fund, investment bank or private equity firm focused on commercial real estate)

 

 

 

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Interaction with or manipulation of databases (no coding required)
  • Exposure to commercial real estate loan servicing or portfolio management software
  • Working knowledge of ARGUS, DYNA or other real estate financial modeling tools

 

 

Required Skills, Abilities and Organizational Competencies:

  • High attention to detail in analytical assessments, and commitment to turning in excellent results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word (Excel skills may be tested during the interview process)
  • Very strong financial modeling skills and ability to summarize data via Excel functions or Pivot Tables
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Real estate finance skills (valuation, analysis, operations, loan servicing, debt and/or equity)
  • Strong interest in process improvement, standardization and organization
  • Ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and balance workload
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision and the freedom to propose and implement creative solutions
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to manage change effectively as the team grows
  • Strong business judgment and decision making to the highest ethical standards and professionalism
